Tempted

I’m really tempted to put up a one-day-ad on Dooce.

$12.23 for one day. A bargain.

There’s only one problem. My kids aren’t for sale. (That and Andrea would give me a well-deserved smack upside the head)

The amazing thing is that the ad info says Ms. Heather B. Armstrong gets 27,000 unique visitors a day and 77,000 page views a day.

If I ever do want to sell the kids, I’m definitely going to advertise on Dooce.

  1. Wow–I was going to go for the eBay auction, but this is WAY better. Because you JUST NEVER KNOW when you might need to sell someone . . . er, someTHING. Right.

And unlike eBay, which I imagine would frown on the listing of one’s child, I think Heather would understand.

  2. Is that all it costs?? Shoot. I’ve got to work on that formula bong prototype . . .

In the interim, I’ll post a “for sale” ad. Where are those recent pics of the chilluns ……?

  3. I wonder what you could get for a set of boy/girl twins. I bet we could make a good profit at that advertising rate.

  4. Okay, just to be clear, you all realize I’m NOT selling the kids, right? I mean, they’re just getting interesting. If I was to have sold them it definitely would have been when I was only getting 3 hours sleep a night.

If anyone does have the courage to advertise their blog on Dooce, please let me know the results. Did you get the 107 estimated hits?

  5. I thought about doing it, but it didn’t take long to come to my senses.

  6. Um, if I am not mistaken, your cousin is one of Dooce’s best friends (or was that supposed to be a secret? – if so, delete my comment – sorry!) So maybe you can get a break in price? I mean, if you had anything to sell, that is! ;-)

  7. Matthew…wait until the twins are two or three…you’ll considering selling them again.

  9. Dude, you don’t even need to wait until they’re 3! Just wait until those two-year-old temper tantrums kick in! : ) When they’re just a little bit older and tearing around the house, you and your wife will try to remember what they felt like when they were sleeping on your chest with their bobble-heads on your shoulders.

  11. Just of out of curiosity, how much would the kids sell for? I’m not interested in buying them but would like a reference point for the time I unload our offspring.
