Alec went to a Lutheran Preschool also! Back when Shawn was little and Aunt F. said a prayer, Shawn ended the prayer not with “Amen” but “yea God!” I told that story to Alec so now when we say a meal prayer he ends it the same way. Kids come up with the cutest things!

The other night walking home my five year old got angry with me harassing him about some thing or another. He blew up at me: “I said I heard you, mom! JESUS!” In response I squeezed his hand and frowned at him. After a beat he said sedately, “That’s how you talk to Jesus. And then he comes down and does something mean to you.”

Am I crazy or is that completely hilarious?

Very cute! I love kids’ views of theology. My oldest used to refer to the priest at church as “that Jesus guy.”
