That is so cute!! Something similar happened to me when DD was 5. She came out of her room…”Mom, when I was in bed I was thinking of you.” (big round eyes making my heart all weak)……Me: “Oh, how sweet is that…What were you thinking?” DD: “I was thinking, ‘Can you quiet down, I am trying to sleep?’” Mommy buzz kill.

I don’t know how I can cry and then laugh out loud in the span of a minute! Great story and completely real. At the very least they keep us humble.
