We did Santa yesterday, and we had happy kids for the second year in a row! I was quite excited! Tad hasn’t figured out/got the verbal skills to ask Santa for anything, but was thrilled to get a candy cane. Ane, on the other hand, was deliberating for quite a while before finally settling on asking for a “Princess Elise” magnetic clothes wooden doll or “toys that I can have a good time playing with.” Fortunately, I happen to know that Grandma – um, I mean Santa – has already procured the “Princess Elise” toy, so we’re off the hook.

Last christmas eve at eight pm my father got the bright idea of helping my three year old write a letter to Santa at which time she decided that she wanted a blue bear, a blue bear, something she never had asked for before. guess what mommy did as soon as the little angel was asleep, went out to 3 store that happened to still be opened to find one. Victory! I found what she wanted and my little girl was thrilled christmas morning, however she has never played with it since. No more last minute letters to Santa at this house

I love that pillow at the end. We got the baby a onesie that says, “Don’t listen to them Snata, I am the good one.” We have yet to do the Santa picture. Might be a few more weeks.

One thing I’ve found out in my oh so many years with kids, is that on Christmas morning, if there are presents, they are thrilled. At some point, we’ve screwed it up, but they have yet to notice. One year and only one year did I do the, go to nine stores to find on specific Pony and Barbie flying purple deal. I swore I’d never do it again.

OK, the argyle vest is AWESOME. And I completely respect Swe’Pea’s refusal to talk to “Santa”. I think she’s smart enough to smell an imposter!

I’m so glad Da’Gorgeouses just say Santa is going to bring them “a gift”, no specifics just yet! Seriously though, I can’t believe how grown up TheMonk and Swee’Pea are looking sitting on Santa’s lap!!

Our son was terrified of Santa when he was younger and would just scream. He still won’t sit on Santa’s lap, so we haven’t tried yet this year.

And, I think he’s already skeptical at 5 years old. We always talk about what’s real and what’s make believe when we read stories together and he pretty much can call that one every time.

I love The Monk’s cute little argyle vest. It makes me smile!

When I was a kid my Dad could only take me to see Santa’s with a real beard or I would pull it off and freak out that it was an impostor. I had spunk from an early age!
