That AT&T stuff is crap.

Oh and we switched from AT&T (Cingular) to Verizon and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! And, we decided to really take it up the ass and cancel early and pay the $175.00 early termination fee despite the fact that we had been with them for like 5 years or so… but we just wanted to get away from them. Fast. It was well worth it.

Oh, and for future information, when you are with Verizon and want a new phone, get it from eBay or Craigslist… that way you CAN buy it, take it home and show your deserving wife THEN simply activate the new phone online or in a store. It’s easy. I got a nice Samsung Alias for Mother’s day, as a surprise and it was very easy.

Yep, I loathe AT&T wireless, their customer service IN EVERY aspect, new phone or not, is horrid. All the other cell companies are pretty much the same, only they have trained their employees to at least smile and act like they are trying to help you.

You already know that any gift beyond you, the kids and the cat is just icing on the cake…(I’ve already got the best present anyone could ever want, with my family). And you know i really DO love a good lunch bag even if it doesn’t cost $399, just one of my lovable “quirks” that doesn’t need changing.

As for cell carriers? I’ve been exactly where you are before. My cell went through the wash, and so I needed to get a new phone, but my contract wasn’t up for another 6 months. Long story short, my choices were get screwed, or get screwed really badly. I chose C: jump ship, leaving my existing contract “on suspension” for the remainder of the term (you pay the SAF and nothing else… basically a “hold my number while I’m out of the country” deal) and getting nicer phones for both of us in the process.

So sorry about your experiences…. Unfortunately, Verizon isn’t much better to their customers. That whole new every two thing they tout is only good on the FIRST phone of the group. So if you have a family plan, you’re basically hosed as far as getting a good deal on the other two phones you have….

That being said, you have a way to put a funny twist on such a miserable experience. Sorry to laugh at your misfortune, and hope that Andrea has a happy birthday anyway….
