I’m still trying to banish the image of when I was ten and out with my DAD and the boy I was madly in love with came into the store my dad and I were in.

My Dad walked up to him and told him to stay away from my daughter because I had cooties and I wanted to rub them all over him.

That boy never went near me EVER and my dad laughed all the way home while I sat there mortified.

aaahhh parenthood. isn’t it great. a few weeks ago, alyssa(who is now 8 by the way), was invited to a “slumber party”. this was the first one that we had actually said “yes” to. so of course, at the very sound of “yes” coming out of our mouths, she was conning daddy into buying her the matching “bobby jack” boy short/sports bra set and bobby jack pajamas. and the cute “pink” camouflage sleeping bag…cuz you gotta look good SLEEPING right?!? it took me right back to jr. high when all the girls just HAD to HAVE the bra with the little “tennis racket” in the front center!…poor daddy, he is going to have to come to terms with having to keep up with this little girl of ours!

What, have you not seen the cute little girl boxer-and-cami sleep sets that they have at Gymboree for the summer months? Bet you a shopping spree there that someday, Swee’Pea desires something like that for a slumber party.
