That was really good. That song came out the year that I got married and as a Daddy's Girl, it really hit me hard. No, we didn't use it for our wedding. I didn't want to have extremely major water works.

There was a song done in the early 90's by a Christian group, Phillips, Craig & Dean, that was specifically about a dad's relationship with his young son. It was called "I Want To Be Just Like You", and it's just as much a tearjerker as "Butterfly Kisses" is for dads and daughters. I made the Webmaster listen to it after we had Tad, and it just got him good.

I agree. Heartwrenching and goosebump-causing and tear-jerking. You should at least put up some sort of warning on a post like this! (Beautiful, by the way.)

Are you trying to kill me? Really. Are you? Because I can't handle it anymore! The love! The sweetness! The joy! My heart is bursting!!

I don't think I know that song, which is weird, because I'm pretty good with stuff like that, not to mention I've been to my share of weddings.

Nice lyrics though.

You are quite the dad. I hope you have all of this stuff saved for your children. They'll appreciate it when they become parents themselves... I have a song that gets me every time I hear it too, Harry Chapin's "Cats in the Cradle." The thought of missing out on my son's life, as the dad in the song did both saddens and inspires me all at the same time.
